Renovation, Remodeling and Painting (RRP) Rule

 

On April 22, 2010, the EPA Renovation, Remodeling and Painting (RRP) Rule went into effect requiring contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.

Later, on August 31, 2010, the US EPA recognized the D-Lead® Paint Test Kit for use on plaster, drywall, wood and ferrous metal surfaces. Tamarac Environmental, Inc. features the D-Lead® Paint Test Kit and D-Wipe® Towels as two of its best-selling products.
